Infrastructure – Utilities
Corderoy provides a range of specialist services for the Commercial Management of Statutory Undertakers’ Work.
Diversionary Works
Where an existing asset has to be moved, most commonly found on highways and transport related projects.
Corderoy provides expertise in
- Development of the “necessary measures”
- Review for bill or budget opportunities
- Commercial management and cost control
- Post contract auditing
Corderoy’s approach is to provide value by:
- Providing advice on Client risks and responsibilities
- Providing advice to Clients on the relevant legislation that governs their relationships with the Utility companies
- Ensuring Client, rather than utility based solutions are achieved
- Ensuring payment is limited to the reasonable costs of the necessary works only
Corderoy’s objective is to ensure that any monies paid fully accord with statue, have a fully transparent audit trail, and that best value is achieved for the scheme as a whole.
Provision of New Utility Infrastructure
Where Clients require new services, for example, in the servicing of new development sites.
Corderoy utilise mechanisms within statute, to obtain competition from within the Utility companies themselves. We provide a value for money service to ensure that any monies used to provide any initial or common infrastructure do not subsidise the Utility companies, such that all users contribute in an equitable manner and can allow the churning of monies to support future developments.
The service offered is a mixture of legislative, commercial and engineering support and applies to both the reinforcement and the provision of new services for all the utilities. This service is separate from but complimentary to the demand requirements, the design, physical construction and supervision provided historically by others.
Our approach is formulated around the four key criteria
- the existing level of utility provision
- the likely level of utility demand
- the extent, phasing and cost of additional primary infrastructure investment
- frame work for procurement
As each of the utilities is governed by different statutes, each with a different regulatory regime, our approach to the supply of gas, electric, telcoms, water and sewerage infrastructure is matched accordingly.
