Sunderland Strategic Transport Corridor (SSTC) is a scheme that will open and link major regeneration sites within the City including those targeted in Sunderland ARCs business plan. Phase II of the project involves the construction of a new landmark bridge over the River Wear and associated highways to link in with the existing network. The project consists of a single track narrow gauge railway between Caernarfon and Porthmadog through the scenic Snowdonia National Park.  A milestone was recently achieved in opening the extension of the line through the Aberglasyn Pass recently voted the Best View in Britain.
