Commercial management and full pre and post contract quantity surveying service including management of statutory undertakers. On this project Corderoy promoted an open book approach between the Client and the contractors tendering a design and construct lump sum. The project offered little scope for design innovation by individual contractors and alternatives were extremely limited due to phasing constraints and the requirements of third parties. A fully detailed model design and project bill of quantities had been produced for the establishment of the risk assessed project budget. This information was provided to all tenderers for value engineering and programme management review. Contractor’s tendering costs were minimised whilst maintaining the Client benefit of risk transfer inherent in a D&B lump sum tender. Priced bills of quantities, amended by the individual contractor, were provided to the Client prior to contract award. The project has now commenced on site. ECC Option A contract
